Baby J's First Birthday!

Here are the last few pics from J's First Birthday photo session. He was such a sweet little guy, even near the end when he let us know he was done taking pictures.

J's First Birthday Cake Smash!

J is my nephew and he is a darling little guy. I took his newborn photos and I was so happy to be able to take some pictures of him for his first birthday. As you can tell he was not shy around cake. He loved it! 

 As darling as J was eating the cake alone, I almost love these photos of J eating cake with his five year old sister even more! She was waiting in the background and being very patient until she could have her share of floor cake. She must really love cake!

It's Great to be Eight!

Last Saturday I had the privilege of taking photos of this cute mom and her son. The photos were to celebrate his eight birthday, a very fun and important age. We had a great time and I loved seeing the special relationship that these two share.

This girl has a great sense of style and can pull off vintage, eclectic, and unique styles better than anyone I know. She has a knack for finding lots of fun vintage pieces from thrift stores and rocking them. I'm not sure why (because the dress is a "vintage" 1980s wedding dress) but something about this ensemble (although totally different time period) reminds me of styles found in the novel (and now movie) The Great Gatsby.

This weekend I had so much fun taking photos for a friend to celebrate her son turning twelve. Twelve is such a fun and important age that we decided to focus upon some of the best parts of being twelve in hopes of capturing his personality. Originally we set out with a specific location in mind because it was supposed to have an abandoned antique piano in it and her son plays. We had to give up our search but we were still able to find some great spots and her son was such a great sport to sit through a photo shoot in the hot sun and to let his mom and I tease him a little so that he felt comfortable in front of the camera. I especially love the baseball pictures, they remind me of the movie Field of Dreams.

This post is only a very brief glimpse at some of the photographs I took at my brother's wedding reception last week. The reception was absolutely gorgeous! The decor simple and elegant, the bride and the groom radiant, and the atmosphere just outright fun (s'mores, dancing, floating lanterns, sparklers...)! It truly was a wonderful evening and I couldn't be happier for my brother and new sister-in-law.  Congratulations!
